Overview

History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance to enhance vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Document repairs, parts usage, and repair times accurately.
• Perform other related maintenance tasks as needed.
• Communicate repair needs or tasks to the manager.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Willing to work on gas and diesel engines.
• Knowledge of basic electrical components including switches, relays, and circuits.
• Own tools required.
• Proficient in vehicle diagnosis and repair.
• Experience with emergency lighting and sirens is a plus.
• Certificates of accomplishment are valuable.
• Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 75 lbs and reaching overhead.

Work Environment

Work involves indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to environmental elements, automotive fluids, and cleaning chemicals. Regular verbal contact with others.

Salary Range

USD $22.00 - USD $35.00 per hour, based on experience.
