UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services is hiring a full-time LPN – Call Center to answer all incoming phone calls and respond to patients with physician’s answers. This role works Monday – Friday with shifts between 8 am – 5:30 pm. After training, the position offers the option to work from home 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Handle outgoing calls to patients with responses from providers, including calling or faxing prescriptions.
• Follow OSHA recommendations regarding housekeeping duties.
• Manage emails from patients and responses from providers.
• Document appropriately.
• Schedule physician referrals, lab, and diagnostic studies at hospitals and other facilities.
• Request reports from facilities and distribute them to relevant departments.
• Provide patients with complete information about tests or procedures, including preparation requirements.
• Schedule appointments via telephone as requested by patients or providers, following physician parameters.
• Handle incoming and outgoing faxes to/from facilities and pharmacies.
• Respond to incoming calls regarding illness, medication requests, or refills; document and forward information to physicians.
• Must be a graduate of an approved LPN school and hold a valid LPN license.
• Preferably have six months of related experience.

Licensure and Certifications

• Complete licensure examination within four months of hire or within one year of graduation.
• Possess a valid LPN license or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Current licensure in the state of employment or a multistate license under the NLC, with a 60-day residency change window.
