Summit Employment Professionals is hiring: Cleaning Technician in Derby

The Cleaning Technician will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties. Specifically, they will be in charge of maintaining all public and private spaces to employer standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Dust and clean ceiling vents, surface areas, and counter surfaces.
• Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, mopping of hardwood, laminate, or tiled floors.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.
• Ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products.
• Use vacuum equipment to clean carpets, perform additional treatments (i.e. shampoo carpets, stain-removal) as needed.
• Dispose of trash from bins and containers.
• Polish furniture and room accessories as needed.
• Scrub sinks, basins, and toilets in private and public bathrooms.
• Keep all public spaces neat and tidy.
• Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Report repairs and replacements when encountered on job.
• Perform ad hoc duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning.
• Must be able to follow verbal directions.
• Ability to work alone, with a partner and/or a team.
• Must be reliable, punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties.
• Adaptable to changing schedules or routines.
• Provide assistance with cleaning duties/tasks to team members as needed.
• Attention to cleaning detail.
• Organized and able to follow a schedule

Education and Experience:

• Prefer two (2) years of previous cleaning and/or housekeeping experience or related experience. On-the-job training will be provided.
• High school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to push the vacuum cleaner for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with ability to stand for long lengths of time.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
