Overview

Position involves supervising construction clean-up crews, overseeing other cleaners to ensure the job is completed to standard, and taking inventory of equipment and supplies for the job.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction clean-up crews and oversee other cleaners to ensure work is completed to standard; take inventory of equipment and supplies for the job.


• Perform site clean-up after subcontractors and prepare the area for the next subcontractor, e.g., flooring to painters or cabinetry workers; dispose of debris and trash properly; conduct a walk-through with the contractor to confirm expectations and any special clean-up instructions; follow up to ensure the clean-up meets requirements.


• Post-construction cleaning of the home, office or structure so it is ready for new occupants; wipe down ceiling fixtures, fans, lights, mechanical registers, walls, cabinets, windows, sills, mirrors, baseboards, counters, appliances and other fixtures; sweep and mop floors and outdoor areas; use products suited for the material being cleaned and avoid harsh chemicals on delicate materials such as granite, marble or quartz.


• Inspect work performed to ensure it meets specifications and established standards; inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.


• Plan and prepare employee work schedules.


• Perform and assist with cleaning duties as necessary.


• Check and maintain equipment to ensure that it is in working order.


• Establish and implement operational standards and procedures for the department supervisor.
