Retail Store Cleaning Associate — The TJX Companies, Inc.

Join our team to maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care, including operation of scrubber and buffer, dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning glass and windows. Cross-trained to support multiple areas of the store. Adheres to operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all floor care cleanliness standards and operate the scrubber and buffer.
• Keep the entire store clean and organized (Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms).
• Follow Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge and Restrooms.
• Cross-train in Backroom, Front End, Sales Floor, and other areas as needed.
• Provide Front End coverage as required and support recovery activities throughout the day.
• Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain compliance with operational controls and loss prevention policies to reduce shrink.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Adhere to labor laws and meal/break period policies.
• Participate in safety initiatives to maintain a safe environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate floor buffer/scrubber.
• Ability to multi-task and respond to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Team-oriented and able to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
