General Information

Full-time - 40 hours a week; Not an 8:00 – 5:00 job
This is NOT a remote position.
Must have a valid Driver’s License
Must be able to pass a background check
Required to be on-call at least 1-2 weekends per month.
Need to be flexible as you will be working with expecting moms who are placing their children for adoption.
Ability to work as part of the overall clinical team, made up of social workers and case managers.
Hourly first 90 days and then salary: $18 - $22/hour, depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

You will work directly with and report to our current LCSW Clinical Director.
You will be responsible for providing counseling to birth mothers throughout the adoption process and coordinate with staff on related issues. Some of that counseling will be over the phone, most will be in-person.
You must be able to work with a team of women who care for and assist expecting mothers who are considering adoption.
Must be flexible to respond to clients as needed.
Provide ongoing counseling for birth mothers as they go through our program: providing mental and emotional support through matching.
Provide ongoing counseling for birth mothers through the placement and post placement process.
Provide counseling support after placement, when needed.
Assist in creating and leading weekly group sessions with birth mothers.

Skills

Must be organized and able to work with little or no supervision, but able to take and apply feedback with humility.
Must have excellent judgment/decision making skills.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to genuinely connect with women.
Must be computer literate to write case notes, evaluations, hospital plans, and social summaries.

Education Required

Related social work experience and/or training in adoption.
