Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school-based social worker position is available in Dearborn, MI for the uping school year on a contract basis. This onsite role requires a Michigan Department of Education (MDE) certification as a School Social Worker (SSW).
Ideal candidates possess strong skills in student advocacy, counseling, and collaboration with educators and families to support student well-being and academic success. The social worker will address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges by providing direct services, conducting assessments, and coordinating with munity resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling to students experiencing social or emotional difficulties
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans that support student needs
- Conduct student assessments and maintain accurate documentation in pliance with district and state guidelines
- Connect students and families with appropriate munity and mental health resources
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide student support initiatives
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a School Social Worker (SSW) from the Michigan Department of Education
- Experience working in school environments or with children and adolescents
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, families, and school staff
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Knowledge of child development, behavioral interventions, and munity resources
Location: Dearborn, MI (onsite position)
Duration: Contract for the 2023-2024 school year
