Job Description:
The Department Support Specialist I will provide essential mailroom and administrative support to the department. This part-time, on-site role is scheduled Monday through Friday, beginning around 8:00 AM and concluding once daily mail processing is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
Sort, open, and scan incoming mail for processing.
Accurately scan documents into internal systems and email scanned files to appropriate recipients.
Ensure proper handling of mail related to discontinued clients, returned checks, and general/disconnect notices.
Serve as a backup for mail pickup duties when necessary (typically 15–20 minutes); personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursed).
May assist with compiling data and generating departmental reports.
Qualifications (Required):
1–4 years of relevant experience in administrative or mailroom support.
Familiarity with standard office practices and procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
Reliable transportation for occasional mail pickup.
Qualifications (Desired):
Previous experience working in a corporate or utility services environment.
