The role you’ll contribute

The IT Contract Specialist serves as the primary liaison within AdventHealth IT for all matters related to contract design, negotiation, processing, and compliance. This role is responsible for partnering with leaders and, as directed, executives to draft, negotiate, and consult on contracts that support AdventHealth IT’s (AIT) core services. You will ensure that contracts are managed efficiently, escalations are handled effectively, and relationships with stakeholders are built on respect and service excellence.

The value you’ll bring to the team

• Serve as the primary point of contact for AIT teams, leaders, and executives to ensure timely and efficient contract processing.
• Lead negotiations with IT vendors (under the direction of the IT Contracting Director) to secure optimal financial and legal terms.Agreements to be negotiated will include, but not be limited to Master Services Agreements, Master Subscription and/or LicenseAgreements andBusiness Associate Agreements and all other ancillary documents.
• Develop background summaries, justifications, and key deal points for review by the IT Contracting Director, contract signatories, and AIT staff.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT Security, Risk Management, and other departments to ensure contract terms comply with AdventHealth policies and procedures.
• Assist with vendor selection processes (RFP/RFI) and provide input on contract prioritization based on strategy, workload, and budget.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract repository records, including tracking execution progress and license usage audits.
• Support annual license usage surveys and recommend adjustments to optimize costs.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of policies, standards, and procedures related to procurement and contracting.
• Educate leaders and executives on contract intake processes, policies, and best practices.
• Support system decommissioning and other assigned initiatives.

Conduct research on vendor management and contracting industry best practices to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Strong understanding of business operations within healthcare.
• Proven ability to research, analyze, and present information clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Contractual knowledge of key provisions, including but not limited to, Limitations of Liability, Indemnification and Warranties
• Proficiency in contract management databases and IT systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a matrixed organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, action-oriented mindset.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Required
• 5+ Work Experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED :

• Paralegal certificate
