The Plant IT Support Analyst is the primary technical resource for first-level IT support at the Springdale facility, responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, maintaining plant IT infrastructure, and supporting local SQL and Access databases. In addition to core IT duties, this role provides limited engineering support for automation systems and process improvement initiatives, helping bridge IT and operational technology to enhance plant performance.
• Provide desk-side technical support for users at the Springdale facility, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Set up, manage, and maintain IT hardware including laptops, desktops, Zebra printers, barcode scanners, and peripheral devices.
• Provide first-level support for local plant systems (e.g., CMS, Kronos, AS400), escalating unresolved issues to central IT or service providers.
• Coordinate with central IT and external vendors to support network switches, servers, system updates, and backups.
• Manage, maintain, and back up SQL Server databases and Microsoft Access systems; ensure data integrity and performance.
• Migrate legacy Microsoft Access databases to SQL Server platforms to improve scalability.
• Ensure compliance with corporate IT policies, cybersecurity protocols, and data protection standards.
• Document and report IT incidents, service requests, and system changes according to established procedures.
• Train end users on basic IT applications and provide feedback to improve IT service quality.
• Develop and maintain automation tools, dashboards, or interfaces using platforms such as Visual Basic, Microsoft Access, and Ignition by Inductive Automation.
• Design intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to enhance usability and workflow efficiency.
• Support and collaborate on local IT and automation-related projects as assigned.
• Assist with troubleshooting/restoring production equipment or system-related process issues as needed.
• Support process documentation efforts (e.g., PFMEAs, control plans, process flow diagrams).
• Collaborate on small-scale process improvements or automation upgrades aligned with plant performance goals.
• Provide occasional training on equipment use or process tools in coordination with the engineering team.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Associates Degree
- 3–5 years of experience in IT support, preferably within a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with hardware/software troubleshooting, user support, and maintaining local IT infrastructure (e.g., computers, printers, barcode scanners, network devices).
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, hardware, software, and network technologies. Proficiency in managing SQL Server and Microsoft Access databases; ability to migrate Access to SQL Server. Experience programming or configuring Visual Basic applications and developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, plant floor environment. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset for working with both IT and engineering teams.
- Certifications or training in IT support, ITIL, or other relevant areas, Experience in working with global or regional IT teams and service providers, Knowledge or hands-on experience with business process mapping in the automotive or discrete manufacturing industry. Experience supporting or working alongside engineering or automation teams is strongly preferred.
