Summary & Essential Responsibilities:

The IT Support & Systems Administrator will establish, implement, and maintain the IT infrastructure supporting our fulfillment center operations. This role is responsible for advising leadership on IT strategy, selecting and deploying the necessary systems, and ensuring seamless functionality of warehouse management software, cybersecurity, and network stability. As we currently do not have a dedicated IT department, this individual will spearhead the development of IT operations, including selecting and implementing the best solutions for our fulfillment center's needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in IT administration, troubleshooting, system security, and process optimization within a logistics or e-commerce fulfillment environment. This role will also oversee hardware maintenance and ensure that critical warehouse technologies (such as barcode scanners, label printers, and security systems) function efficiently.

Infrastructure & Systems Implementation:

  • Design and implement the IT infrastructure required for smooth fulfillment center operations.
  • Research, recommend, and deploy warehouse management systems, inventory tracking software, and other operational IT solutions.
  • Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and best practices for system usage and maintenance.

System Administration & Maintenance:

  • Oversee software updates and patch management for warehouse management systems, inventory software, operating systems, and security applications.
  • Ensure inventory systems (barcode scanners, tracking software) are fully functional and optimized for real-time stock updates.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for warehouse and fulfillment teams, troubleshooting workstation, software, and access-related issues.

Cybersecurity & Compliance:

  • Establish and monitor cybersecurity protocols, including malware protection, phishing prevention, and unauthorized access control.
  • Implement and enforce best practices for user security, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), strong password policies, and role-based access controls.
  • Develop and oversee data backup and recovery plans to ensure system resilience and data integrity.

Network, Hardware & Equipment Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues to prevent disruptions in order processing and warehouse operations.
  • Oversee procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical warehouse hardware (e.g., printers, barcode scanners, workstations, networking devices).
  • Manage vendor relationships for IT equipment repairs and replacements, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Oversee fulfillment center security systems, including security cameras and access control devices.

Process Improvement & IT Strategy:

  • Advise leadership on IT infrastructure enhancements and recommend best practices for efficiency and scalability.
  • Train fulfillment center staff on IT best practices, system usage, and security compliance.
  • Continuously assess and improve IT systems, identifying new technologies that support warehouse automation and process optimization.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT administration, technical support, or systems management (experience in e-commerce, logistics, or fulfillment preferred).
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Network Administration, preferred.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications, preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows & Mac operating systems, network troubleshooting, and IT security protocols.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory tracking software, and order fulfillment platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (VPNs, Wi-Fi, firewalls, routers, and switches).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and security issues in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and ability to work independently.
