An IT Logistics Specialist will image laptops/desktops/tablets and perform complete setup of end-user work areas. They will also perform receiving, warehousing, configuration, repair, provisioning, and shipping of Point-of-Sale/IT hardware to/from all locations within the USA, with very occasional interdepartmental shipments internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Inbound shipment processing to include verification of serial numbers and identification of origin (store number, user name, vendor).
  • Perform accurate data entry to ensure correct processing of assets within the inventory/ticket management system.
  • Perform diagnosis, testing and burn-in, if required, of IT/POS hardware.
  • Perform detailed repairs of a wide range of malfunctioning or damaged hardware, including laser printers, network video recorders, laptops/desktops, direct thermal printers, network switches, cellular phones and tablets (screen and battery replacements primarily).
  • Prepare hardware for testing and repair completion, including cleaning and proper packaging for return-to-stock or shipping.
  • Submit warranty claims for applicable hardware.
  • Assist with or perform cycle counts to ensure material availability to satisfy demand.
  • Assist with reviewing vendor invoices as needed.
  • Prepare POS/IT hardware for deployment, including final configurations and repackaging.
  • Process package shipments using UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager and update work order statuses in the inventory system.
  • Provide accurate shipment information including ETA and tracking details.
  • Create or edit configuration files and guides for various device types.
  • Handle reverse logistics tickets from creation to completion for refurbishment or disposal of non-functioning hardware.
  • Stock and rotate inventory using FIFO.
  • Install applications and perform domain joins on laptops/desktops/tablets (Windows and macOS) as well as Android devices.
  • Install hardware (laptops, desktops, tablets, desk phones, printers) while ensuring proper cable management.
  • Occasional travel within the metro area using a personal vehicle; very infrequent travel beyond the north Texas area using company-provided transportation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Use of basic hand tools 50% - 75% of the time.
  • Occasional use of electric/hydraulic pallet stacker.
  • Ability to stand or walk 75% of the time.
  • Ability to lift/carry loads up to 40 lbs. for short distances, or climb ladders, without assistance – up to 75%.
  • Participate in lifting loads over 40 lbs. – less than 25%.
  • Bending and/or reaching into pallet-depth racks – up to 50%.
  • Crawling under desks – 25%.
  • Sitting – less than 25%.
  • Exposure to household cleaning agents (window cleaner/isopropyl alcohol/etc.) – less than 25%.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Effective and accurate follow-up with strong attention to detail.
  • A+ Certification required.
  • Six months of computer/hardware repair experience.
  • Understanding of FirstCash, Inc. field business models and related requirements within 6 months.
  • Ability to read and follow advanced technical manuals detailing equipment repairs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle high volume in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • High school graduate or equivalent with 2+ years related experience.
  • Associates degree or technical school preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a hydraulic pallet stacker within 3 months of employment.
