Summary
Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is recruiting for the Senior Clinical Data Analyst. For Florida residents and other select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY), this full-time remote position offers a remote work arrangement.
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst combines clinical review, analysis, and report development to create meaningful information for the Center's nursing and clinical departments to evaluate the effectiveness of performance improvement initiatives, the patient safety program, and the risk management program. This position requires in-depth knowledge of the center’s relational source systems, patient clinical data, and internal patient safety and risk management tracking systems.
The Analyst will provide meaningful information that allows for informed decisions to reduce fragmentation of care when multiple providers are involved, and to enhance patient safety, well-being, and quality of life while reducing healthcare costs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve data and databases to meet the needs of Nursing and Patient Care services, including designing studies for outcomes measurement, preparing reports from internal sources, and overseeing data sets using various tracking methods.
- Provide consultation and reporting services for Nursing and Patient Care, supporting strategies to achieve measurable outcomes, utilizing statistical methods for data analysis, and designing reports to measure clinical outcomes using benchmarks.
- Optimize technology by demonstrating knowledge of report writing, data analysis, and database development to support performance improvement, patient safety, and risk management; stay updated on technological advances; lead requirements gathering and documentation for data reporting and analytics in line with nursing standards and regulations.
- Ensure quality and regulatory compliance by adapting JCAHO and National Patient Safety standards to clinical performance improvement activities and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare environment with data analysis and interpretation skills; advanced PC application skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Business, or related field.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in a similar role; experience in quality management, clinical decision support, or utilization resource management preferred.
- Ability to achieve objectives efficiently, develop partnerships across organizational levels, and lead teams to produce desired outcomes.
