Overview
SR CLINICAL DATA ANALYST role at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. This full-time remote position offers a remote work arrangement for Florida residents and select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY).
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst combines clinical review, analysis and report development to create meaningful information for the center’s nursing and other clinical departments to evaluate the effectiveness of performance improvement initiatives, the patient safety program and the risk management program. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of the center’s relational source systems, patient clinical data, internal patient safety and risk management tracking systems.
Responsibilities
- Data and database development, advancement, and improvement to meet ongoing and future needs of Nursing and Patient Care services, including study designs for outcomes measurements, preparing reports utilizing data from internal sources, and maintaining oversight of the data set within the organization using various tracking methods.
- Consultation and reporting services for Nursing and Patient Care, including proposing/supporting plans to attain measurable outcomes, applying statistical methods for data analysis, and designing reports that measure clinical outcomes using internal and external benchmarks.
- Optimization of technology to support performance improvement, patient safety and risk management, including in-depth knowledge of report writing, data analysis, and database development; staying abreast of technology changes that could improve automation and facilitate process improvement; leading requirements gathering and documenting methodologies to support and guide data reporting and analytics in alignment with nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Quality and regulatory compliance reporting, aligning with JCAHO and National Patient Safety standards and requirements across all clinical performance improvement activity and reports.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent field of study.
- Five (5) years prior work experience in a health care environment with experience in data analysis and interpretation; advanced knowledge of PC applications (word processing, spreadsheets, graphics) required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Business, or related field.
- Eight to ten years of experience in a similar role; prior work experience in quality management, clinical decision support and/or utilization resource management activities preferred.
- Ability to reach objectives in a timely manner and to develop partnerships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels; capable of creating and leading teams to achieve desired outcomes.
