Staff Accountant Job at WAND -TV in Louisville

Overview

Position: Staff Accountant at WAND -TV (WDRB Media in Louisville, KY). The Staff Accountant will perform journal entries and month end close for three television station entities, including WDRB (Independence Television), WAND-TV, and Lima Communications Corp.

What you will do

• Perform month end close each month.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
• Assist in annual budgeting process.
• Maintain lease and asset records.
• File monthly sales/use tax returns.

What you bring

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business/accounting field required.
• Experience: 3 years of experience with general ledger accounting or broadcast TV accounting.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.).
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting.
• Considerable skill with Microsoft Excel to include Pivot Tables.
• Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Sage X3 and/or Wide Orbit preferred.
