Our financial services client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its Regulatory & Financial Reporting Group. This role focuses on preparing timely and accurate financial reports for Head Office under IFRS and German GAAP, while collaborating closely with Accounting, Operations, and IT. Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of financial reporting experience in banking, strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP, and familiarity with banking products including derivatives.

The US Branch of a prominent European bank is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Senior Accountant to join the Regulatory & Financial Reporting Group. The role’s primary responsibility includes the data submission to the head office for the group’s consolidated financial reporting process. The role requires frequent interaction with Head Office and coordination and collaboration with Accounting, Operations and IT to ensure streamlined financial reporting processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to Head Office;
• German GAAP and IFRS financial statements (Balance sheet and P&L) to the Head Office financial reporting team
• Additional statistical reporting required for the Group’s consolidated financial statement disclosures
• Provide variance analyses, commentary and respond to inquiries from Head Office financial reporting team
• Liaise and prepare information requested from external auditors for the quarterly reviews and year-end financial statement audit
• Participate in the internal audit
• Maintenance and implementation of procedural documents relating to the various reporting processes
• Establish the strong internal control framework and prepare the supporting documentation to evidence the control performance
• Participate in the month end closing that includes various front office trade P&L booking, loan loss provision set up and the application of hedge accounting adjustments
• Active involvement in special projects and new process initiative
• Other responsibilities as required

Experience /Qualifications/Education:

• 3-5 years financial reporting experience in banking or financial institutions
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP. Knowledge in German GAAP is a plus
• Strong knowledge of banking products including derivatives and relevant hedge accounting
• Strong analytical and excellent interpersonal skills, detail-oriented and proactive
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
