Senior Accountant

Birmingham, Alabama

$70,000 - $85,000 + bonus

Our client, a leading construction company headquartered in Birmingham, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. Recognized as one of the top companies in their industry in North America, they service customers across the Southeast and have exciting expansion plans in the years ahead.

In this role, you will work directly under the Controller and play a key part in day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and process improvements. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to grow their career within a stable, well-respected organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide accounting support for business initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred)
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience a plus
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative
