Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professionalism with staff, parents, volunteers, and children.
  • Plan and implement learning experiences aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF), covering domains like Approaches to Learning, Social and Emotional Development, Language and Literacy, Cognition, Mathematics Development, Scientific Reasoning, Perceptual, Motor, and Physical Development.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support family involvement and develop positive family-child relationships.
  • Guide children's behavior positively, implement curriculum plans, promote developmentally appropriate practices, and conduct regular educational home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Monitor and document children’s growth and development, using data to individualize learning.
  • Design and utilize learning centers effectively.
  • Supervise children and staff, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  • Encourage good eating habits and social manners during meals.
  • Maintain a high-quality daily program and records.
  • Collaborate with staff and support implementation of recommendations from education agencies or consultants.
  • Assist with volunteer coordination and documentation for In-Kind contributions.
  • Participate in staff meetings, parent meetings, behavioral staffing, and IEP meetings.
  • Work with the IEP team and support classroom goals.
  • Respond promptly to children’s needs and emergencies.
  • May assume center leadership in the absence of the Center Manager.

Minimum Requirements: One of the following: CDA – Child Development Associate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in early childhood development.
