Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Provide instructional support to students in a positive environment.
  • Employ educational strategies to develop sensory, perceptual-motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
  • Use techniques like phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to meet students' needs.
  • Teach socially acceptable behavior based on IEPs using positive support strategies.
  • Modify curriculum for students with disabilities using various techniques and technologies.
  • Plan and conduct instructional activities, demonstrations, and work time.
  • Establish rules and procedures to maintain a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with professionals to develop and implement IEPs.
  • Maintain student records and prepare reports as required.
  • Set clear lesson objectives and communicate them effectively.
  • Develop communication and monitoring plans for inclusive classrooms.
  • Provide crisis intervention when needed.
  • Assist in data collection for interventions and reports.
  • Participate in professional development activities.

Qualifications needed:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (within 30 days of employment)
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (within 30 days)
  • Teaching Certificate
  • Driver's License
  • Bachelor's Degree
