Overview
At North Sky Communications, LLC., as a Mechanic, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and repairs on various types of heavy construction equipment to ensure efficient operation. The mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining gasoline/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment along with the individual components associated with the equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Inspects, repairs and maintains diesel trucks and equipment ranging from a pickup truck up to Class 8 vehicle.
- Repairs and maintains all ground engaging equipment.
- Performs incidental welding operations on equipment.
- Maintains maintenance records for all equipment including service records, parts and repair costs, service schedules and inspections.
- Performs 8-10 repair orders per day including routine maintenance and oil changes on fleet.
- Performs 90-day inspections on equipment.
What You’ll Need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- Minimum of 3-years’ experience in automotive and heavy equipment maintenance/repair
- Positive attitude, hard work ethic, and a priority for safety
- Must understand the hazards and precautions in the trade
- Forklift certified
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions
- Must be able to meet deadlines of equipment inspections
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Valid driver’s license (Class A is preferred)
Physical Abilities & Exposures
- Routinely: Walk, bend, kneel, lift, and sit for an extended time. Climb up and down equipment. Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Subject to inclement weather conditions when working outdoors.
- Occasionally: Push, pull, reach, and carry objects such as tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. Sit for extended periods of time while driving.
Salary
Salary Range: $30.00 - $40.00 / hour, depending on experience
