Req#: 23-002020-0003 GRADE: 13 LOCATION OF POSITION: Board of Physicians, 4201 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215 Main Purpose of Job: This is a full performance level of work learning to conduct research into the educational, employment, and personal history of applicants for Physician Assistant licensure. The main purpose of this position is to: Learn to prepare and present investigative findings and materials to the Board's Disciplinary Panel and the full Board meeting. Learn to manage, analyze, and process applications from the initial licensure stage through final disposition by the Board. Learn to provide analytical skills in the Allied Health Unit to ensure that initial applications for licensure, reinstatement, and delegation agreements are processed in a timely manner while assuring all applicants/licensees have met minimum qualifications according to the statute and regulations of Maryland. Learn to evaluate the applicant's character and fitness for licensure. Learn to determine the eligibility of any Physician Assistant licensure and reinstatement applications submitted to the Board of Physicians where the applicant has answered 'YES' to any of the 'Character and Fitness' questions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Five years of experience in administrative or professional work. Notes: Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required experience. Candidates may substitute additional graduate-level education at an accredited college or university, at the rate of 30 credit hours, for the required experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular exercise of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules, or regulations, or analysis of the operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement, on a year-for-year for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should possess: Experience interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and procedures. Experience presenting clear and concise oral and written reports and recommendations. Knowledge of methods and procedures for collection, interpretation, and presentation of information. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. SELECTION PROCESS
