About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its dynamic nonprofit organization. The CFO will be responsible for the financial management, accounting, and compliance for all units of the organization. This includes serving as the primary financial liaison and advisor to the corporate board, finance advisory council, and audit committees, as well as overseeing external audits, budgeting processes, and providing expert counsel on financial matters. The successful candidate will also be tasked with developing and implementing ambitious annual goals, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring the organization's financial integrity through robust internal controls and procedures.
Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial leadership, preferably within nonprofit organizations. The role requires a strategic thinker with a comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, IRS regulations, and tax compliance for 501(c)(3) organizations. The CFO will also be responsible for supervising and managing all financial operations, including staff, and must demonstrate a proven track record in management and supervision. Expertise in financial software systems, advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and data-management tools, and experience with fund accounting and GAAS are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across departments.
