Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to provide advanced analytical support to the National Guard Bureau (NGB) in support of business transformation, reinvention, and continuous process improvement efforts. This role will involve applying quantitative and qualitative methods, predictive analytics, and machine learning to complex challenges in organizational efficiency and performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

Conduct advanced data analytics and predictive modeling to support organizational transformation, performance measurement, and process improvement initiatives.

Design and implement simulations, machine learning models, and artificial intelligence solutions.

Apply Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques including keyword extraction and sentiment analysis.

Use statistical and data mining techniques such as regression, clustering, boosting, and decision trees to generate insights.

Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Interpret and apply federal laws, regulations, and policies (OMB, OSD, HQDA, CNGB, ARNG) relevant to organizational effectiveness assessments.

Provide verbal and written communication across a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders and program managers.

Assist in planning, coordinating, and integrating NGB initiatives such as Business Transformation, Innovation, Performance Improvement, and CPI.

Support reinvention and reengineering programs by using evaluative techniques and structured methodologies.

Qualifications:

Accomplishment of complex studies requiring application of analytical and statistical methods and techniques.

Strong organizational skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a variety of audiences at all organizational levels.

Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, procedures, and evaluative techniques for reinvention/reengineering programs.

Knowledge of laws/regulations/policies/practices by OMB/OSD/HQDA/CNGB/ARNG and private industry for organizational assessment.

Computer skills including Microsoft Office and statistical software.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Seven (7) years of experience in analytics.

Expertise in predictive modeling, simulation, AI, and machine learning.

Experience with statistical and data mining techniques such as Regression, Boosting, Clustering, Trees, etc., and NLP techniques.

Proficiency in analytics programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, Scala, and visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.

Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
