Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location: Knoxville, TN 37923 (Tennessee healthcare jobs) Facility Setting: Level One Labor & Delivery Unit Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract Start Date: October 6, 2025 End Date: January 5, 2026 Assignment Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1880 - $2020 On-Call Requirement: 2 shifts every 6 weeks Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month or every other weekend Orientation: 24 hours Nurse-Patient Ratio: 1:1-2 (Labor & Delivery), 1:8 (Postpartum/Couplets) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or compact state (Tennessee RN jobs) Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, NIHSS Proficiency with electronic charting systems (Cerner preferred) Prior travel nursing experience required Ability to float to other hospital units as needed Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered) All certifications and licensure must be valid for at least 45 days after assignment start date Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns in a Level One Labor & Delivery unit Assist with high-risk deliveries, triage obstetrical patients, and circulate for C-sections Perform sterile vaginal exams, IUPC placement/calibration, and postpartum recovery care Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy Maintain and manage central lines (CVC/PICC) and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services Float to postpartum and couplet care units as needed Accurately document all aspects of patient care in accordance with hospital and nursing standards Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Knoxville, TN, and take the next step in your Labor & Delivery nursing career!
