Our Atlanta office is seeking a Principal Project Manager specializing in bridges. We lead challenging projects and provide design expertise across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, and Florida. Our team supports significant transportation, water, and infrastructure projects such as:

Rome-Cartersville Development Corridor – 13 bridges, new interchange on I-75, and 6 turbo roundabouts.

SR 17 GRIP Corridor – 12.2 miles of widening from 2 to 4 lanes.

Gordon Highway Improvements – 10 miles of resurfacing, rehabilitation, and sidewalk enhancements.

Multiple contracts in GDOT's bridge replacement program.

Gwinnett County Transportation On-Call – widenings and intersection improvements.

Design-Build projects utilizing various delivery methods.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for new projects, considering alternatives for cost-effectiveness.

Analyze technical problems and devise innovative solutions.

Design and develop plans and drawings, including preliminary layouts and final designs.

Research feasibility of design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory requirements.

Lead and supervise a diverse structural design team in Georgia.

Plan and review engineering drawings, specifications, investigations, and planning work.

Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

Supervise quality control to maintain high standards in all deliverables.

Assist in project scope, cost, and manpower estimations.

Support professional development of team members.

Candidate Requirements

15+ years of experience in highway bridge projects, including project management.

BSc or MSc in engineering with a structural focus; MSc preferred.

Georgia P.E. license preferred or ability to obtain it.

Experience with GDOT processes and familiarity with PDE process preferred.

Leadership experience and a desire to grow a bridge group.

Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
