Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Coffee Shop Manager, the Barista maintains principles and processes to promote and sell products through excellent customer service. This includes product knowledge, sales techniques, and evaluating customer satisfaction while meeting quality standards for service and product consistency.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Prepares beverages and/or food per standardized recipes and customer requests.
• Maintains counters in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• Unpacks, stocks, and restocks products as needed.
• Washes/rinses blender equipment after use and sanitizes equipment daily.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and storage areas; puts clean dishes and utensils away after use.
• Performs general cleaning duties and disposes of trash appropriately.
• Maintains display items and secures items at the end of the day.
• Operates cash register and reconciles receipts.
• Greets customers, provides friendly service, and encourages sales of café products.
• Knowledgeable about café products; converses with customers and suggests new products or specials.
• Performs infection control practices at all times.
• Responds to customer requests via telephone and in person.
• Evaluates inventory and informs manager of items to be ordered.
• Demonstrates knowledge of show, promote, and sell principles for products.

Minimum Requirements

• Education / Experience / License and Certifications
• Minimum age 16; High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

• Additional Skills
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills.
