Azad is seeking a full-time Electrical Estimator to join our client's team in Janesville, Wisconsin.

This permanent, full-time role is based on-site in Janesville, Wisconsin, with a salary range of $115,000 - $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Summary:

The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a variety of projects, including conceptual, design-build, and general tender work. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed cost breakdowns, analyzing material and labor requirements, and drafting requests for quotations to secure the most competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing.

In this role, you will apply technical expertise to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications, ensuring all estimates are precise, comprehensive, and aligned with project objectives. You will utilize estimating software such as Accubid Classic or Anywhere to streamline cost calculations and collaborate closely with the Estimating Manager to account for indirect costs and overheads. Qualified candidates will bring experience working on Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil construction projects, demonstrating the ability to manage diverse scopes of work and contribute to the successful completion of multi-disciplinary initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for a wide range of projects, including conceptual designs, design-build projects, and general tender work.

Independently calculate material, labor, and equipment costs based on proposals, plans, specifications, and scope of work, ensuring accuracy from project initiation through closing.

Review drawings, schematics, and technical documents to determine material and labor requirements, creating comprehensive, itemized takeoffs.

Draft and issue requests for quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating responses to secure competitive pricing and value for the project.

Utilize estimating software such as Accubid Classic or Accubid Anywhere to perform precise and efficient cost calculations.

Collaborate with the Estimating Manager and project teams to establish indirect costs, overheads, and risk factors for each estimate.

Assist in the preparation and presentation of estimates for internal review and client submission, providing supporting documentation and analysis as required.

Track and maintain records of historical data, costs, and production rates to continuously improve accuracy of future estimates.

Partner with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with overall project goals and timelines.

Support business development and pre-construction efforts by providing cost insights, budgetary estimates, and feasibility assessments during early project phases.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support company objectives and contribute to overall team success.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required; equivalent trade experience will be considered.

Minimum of 2 years of electrical estimating experience within the electrical contracting industry.

Proven experience developing electrical service quotes and estimates in a similar role.

Direct experience working on electrical, mechanical, or civil construction projects required.

Strong knowledge of electrical sub-trades' scope of work.

Solid ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.

Proficiency with Accubid Estimating Software.

Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization, as well as with customers, contractors, and business partners.
