Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the preparation and filing of all external financial reporting documents, including related SEC filings. The role will also be responsible for overseeing various aspects of accounting for all equity based transactions with strict deadlines on a consistent basis.
Essential Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting Related
Lead the preparation of all SEC reporting including 10K, 10Q's, and 8K's as required
Prepare technical accounting memos to support the Company's accounting positions
Coordinate with the external auditors (Grant Thornton) the review of all technical accounting memos
Responsible for journal entries relating to:
Stock Based Compensation
Warrants
Debt Bifurcation
Lease Accounting
Manage the Stock Compensation Administrator (SCA)
Review all work product of the SCA
Maintain the stock ownership schedules
Maintain stock based compensation vesting schedules
Primary liaison for AON
Work with various personnel and departments to collect information and input into the above referenced reports; coordinate, review and collect comments on the various drafts; prepare support files; challenge the appropriateness of disclosures; complete all relevant disclosure checklists and reporting questionnaires
Maintain quarterly reporting time table and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones
Assist with technical accounting research and documentation of new policies and procedures
Monitor the development and applicability of emerging accounting and reporting rules deliberated by the SEC, US GAAP, PCAOB, or other regulations
Assist with establishment, documentation, and maintenance of company accounting policies
Assist with month-end close and financial statement review
Assist external auditors
Lead the Sarbanes Oxley compliance effort including designing and testing controls
Other Important Responsibilities:
Combination of private industry and public accounting in a manufacturing environment
Advanced technical accounting planning, designing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures in a SOX environment
XBRL tagging Work Environment
Required Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA required
10 years of progressive accounting experience
5+ years of SEC reporting experience
Ability to relate to employees and understand their needs
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check own work
Excellent time management skills
Task oriented excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work load
Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, sensitive to client needs
High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Outlook
