Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) Engineering is an organization within Schwab Technology Services aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM), Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS), the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR), and Third-Party Platform teams. WAM Engineering Technology Operations provides Technology Operations support to SAM, a critical area for Schwab. Duties
Proactively detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues affecting production applications, coordinating with development and external teams as needed. This team is responsible for all issues escalated to WAM Engineering until resolved or a workaround is provided to end users. Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to affected parties during investigation and resolution of outages. Ensure Change Implementation Management policies are adhered to for all changes deployed to Production. Work with development teams to ensure support strategy guidelines are followed and that new systems or projects meet Production standards. Continuously update the knowledge repository; ensure information regarding support activities or issues is available and accessible. Servicing requests for data or other activities that require access to Production systems. What You Are Good At
Strong understanding of data attributes used in Asset Management applications (Security, Positions, Benchmarks). Familiarity with Data Transformation, Integration, Analysis, Data Warehousing and cloud services such as AWS, GCP. Ability to manage outage incidents, coordinate user communications, and collaborate with other teams to resolve incidents. Strong ownership mentality with a focus on customer satisfaction; able to communicate with business users to discuss issues and reach resolutions. Solid track record in an operational/support role with understanding of incident/problem/change management and driving stability. Required Qualifications Technical/Vendor Product skills 7+ years of experience in Windows, Linux, and public cloud environments. 7+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server and cloud databases. 7+ years of experience in Informatica ETL. 5+ years of experience with Debuggers, Splunk, AppDynamics. 3+ years of experience with Control-M or any enterprise scheduler. 5+ years of experience in at least one cloud environment such as AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure. 3+ years of experience in monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Splunk. 5+ years of experience with Github, BitBucket or Bamboo. 7+ years of experience in software development life-cycles and best practices. Education / Experience
Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from a top-tier university, preferably in Computer Science. 7-10 years of support/developer experience in financial services, preferably Asset Management. Preferred Qualifications
Asset Management Industry Knowledge. Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C# or Java, dotNet, JavaScript, and shell scripting.
