Position focuses on providing advice and expertise on industry trends, emerging regulations, and strategic opportunities to fulfill the company’s sustainability objectives, reporting requirements, and program commitments. The Manager will advance the company’s sustainability agenda, working with management to develop, implement and enhance sustainability initiatives that align with corporate objectives. The role requires expertise in environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance practices, driving programs, implementing strategies, and collaborating with various departments and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes and financial returns. What You’ll Do – Primary Responsibilities
Support the execution of the company’s sustainability strategy while ensuring alignment with overall business goals, mission, vision and values. Drive the development and delivery of the company’s annual Sustainability Report in alignment with sustainability standards, industry best practices and stakeholder expectations. Prepare presentations and management reports for Board, executive and management committees. Conduct strategic research on relevant industry trends, best practices, standards and emerging regulations to fulfill the company’s sustainability objectives and reporting requirements. Implement the renewable energy strategy to achieve the company’s goals and targets. Drive cross-functional sustainability projects and initiatives to support the company’s sustainability strategy. Track benchmarks and key performance indicators to measure the progress, effectiveness and impact of various initiatives. Report on program outcomes while making recommendations for improvements. Conduct analysis for annual shareholder engagement meetings on sustainability with the company’s largest investors. Manage the preparation of responses to credit and sustainability rating agencies and the company’s key customers to optimize ratings and achieve market recognition. Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, accounting, and commercial affairs, to integrate sustainability into core business practices. Communicate sustainability goals and progress with external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, through reports, presentations and outreach. Monitor relevant legislation, regulations and standards related to sustainability to ensure compliance across all markets of operations. Facilitate climate risk and impact assessments, manage reporting under voluntary and regulatory frameworks and propose strategies for risk mitigation. Manage the collection, analysis and reporting of quantitative and qualitative sustainability data and metrics. Maintain robust processes for collecting, analyzing, and verifying sustainability-related data, identifying areas for improvement in data gathering and reporting methodologies. Manage emissions accounting for Scopes 1, 2 and 3, in line with GHG Protocol standards and third-party assurance requirements. Prepare periodic reports that track progress toward targets. Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, cost savings and improved resource management. Evaluate and update external statements and policies annually. Mentor and support a team of sustainability professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Provide guidance and review the work of junior team members. Encourage team member engagement around sustainable practices throughout the company. Other projects and duties as assigned. What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MBA, Sustainability, or equivalent) preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred 5 to 8 years of relevant business experience in corporate sustainability or management consulting. Proven ability to develop and execute successful sustainability strategies and programs. Strong business acumen and industry knowledge. Considerable experience in preparing sustainability reports for publicly listed companies. Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, IFRS S1/S2, etc.) and regulatory requirements. Advanced analytical and financial modeling expertise. Specialist in emissions accounting under the GHG Protocol standards. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Uses strategic research, analysis, and innovation to inform decisions and shape effective solutions. Driven, collaborative, accountable, resilient manager with strong interpersonal skills.
