By joining our Roadside Environment Section as a Roadside Environment District Administrator in JeffersonCounty, you'll have the opportunity to oversee and administer all maintenance and improvement programs forHighway District 5.
Summary of Responsibilities: Inspect mowing contracts Investigate and respond to complaints from employees, public officials and the public Train and oversee crews in the restriction and techniques of herbicide and pesticide application Order and oversee use of chemical agents Coordinate crews involved with weed and insect control, landscaping, plant nutrition and erosion control Ideal Candidate will have experience in:
Experience in soil erosion control, turf management or a related field Experience in agriculture, agronomy, roadside vegetation management programs, rest area management programs or a related field Valid driver's license Benefits and perks:

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in agriculture, agronomy or a related field.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have four years of professional experience in soil erosion control, turf management or a related field.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree in agriculture, agronomy or a related field will substitute for one year of experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in agriculture, agronomy, roadside vegetation management programs, rest area management programs or a related field will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possess and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in both an office and field setting. Travel, extreme weather, and chemical application may pose hazards which may require the following of safety procedures. Travel will be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
