Jointhe Kentucky Department for Public Health Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)/ Acquired ImmunodeficiencySyndrome (AIDS) Section as an Epidemiologist I, where you'll play a key role in advancing HIV data to improvehealth outcomes.

This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely asthe result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant thatfunds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements forthe classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit)employee in a permanent position.
The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) participates in E-Verify and will provide the federalgovernment with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in U.S. CHFS will onlyuse E-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and completed the Form I-9.
Responsibilities and Duties: Conduct basic epidemiological functions Maintains HIV data Develops data needs assessments Provides technical assistance to sub-recipients Improves data quality and manages quality assurance for HIV data Assists with grant reporting Disseminates data Other duties as assigned Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Analytic skills Qualitative and quantitative data evaluation Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines Detail-oriented Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and email Experience in providing technical assistance Team player
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in public health or environmental health or related field OR A bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least two courses in epidemiology, public health, research methods, epidemiological research methods, population health, or disease investigation, or other related courses AND one course in data analysis, statistics, biostatistics, public health programming, epidemiological programming, health analytics, demography, or other related courses.
