Project Engineer Location: Denver, Colorado Job Description
As part of Garver's Denver, Colorado Aviation team, this
Project Engineer
will be responsible for designing airport projects, including improvements to runways, taxiways, aprons, airfield grading and drainage, hangars, fuel farms, parking decks, terminal buildings, and other airport construction projects. If the engineer lacks previous aviation civil experience, they will need to start at one of Garver's aviation design centers for at least six months. The project engineer must work well within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborate with diverse clients, and produce full design phase deliverables such as drawings, specifications, cost estimates, exhibits, technical reports, and narratives for regional airports. Design development will utilize software packages like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Storm and Sanitary, among others. As responsibilities expand, the engineer will have opportunities to work on airports across Garver's service area, including onsite construction observation, construction administration, and submittal reviews for ongoing projects. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program 2-5 years of civil engineering or aviation-related experience Licensed as an Engineer in Training or able to obtain licensure within 6 months Detail-oriented with strong scheduling and deadline management skills Team player with self-initiative and accountability Excellent written and oral communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Willing to work overtime as needed (estimated 2-5 hours/week) Some travel required (approximately 5%, with occasional overnight stays) Preferred Skills
Previous civil internship experience Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D Passion for Aviation Compensation & Benefits
