Position Summary
Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller in all aspects of the accounting function for the company with an emphasis in accounts payable. The position handles all aspects of accounts payable, assists with treasury management, performs reconciliations for month end close along with other projects as needed.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate G/L coding for invoices.
- Process invoices and get all invoices approved by business owners.
- Process expense reimbursements and ensure company policy compliance.
- Manage weekly AP payment process from recommended payments to mailing checks.
- Assist with ad-hoc payments.
- Own and manage A/P aging.
- Assist accounting team on various month-end closing tasks including prepaid schedules, journal entries and GL account reconciliations within established timeframe.
- Own the credit card processes including statement reconciliation to account posting.
- Assist in developing, documenting, and enforcing accounts payable policies and procedures.
- Assist in project and milestone set up in software.
- Invoice clients as directed by project management and contract specifications.
- Contact client to collect on all past due A/R
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Strong analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions.
- Solid understanding of GAAP as it pertains to the structure of a chart of accounts, the general ledger, and financial reporting requirements.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate Microsoft Excel modeling skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. (Preferred)
- 3+ years experience in accounting/finance.
- Experience with ERP system, Epicor preferred.
- Expense Management Software experience (Expensify) is desired, but not required.
- Must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
