Accounting Senior Account Position

Summary: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or related) & 6 yrs accounting experience required - hybrid potential. The Senior Account uses extensive knowledge to ensure financial transactions and financial records are properly recorded. This position researches and analyzes, revenues, expenses, and other complex technical business matters to ascertain financial impact and ensure proper recording. Works with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and answering questions. May also assist with budget process. May lead and mentor other accounting personnel.

Description:

1. Ensures month end closing schedule is completed on schedule to meet financial packet review and mail out deadlines.

2. Analyzes general ledger activity and reports unusual variances to management.

3. Ensures accuracy of general ledger and related financial statements on a month end and fiscal year end basis.

4. Prepares year end schedules and analysis for independent auditors, making sure all account balances are correct and no audit adjustments are necessary.

5. Works with external auditors and provides information in a timely manner to assist in maintaining the audit schedule.

6. Prepares and manages special projects, utilizing resources and delegating responsibilities as needed to complete the project.

7. Researches and resolves questions or concerns of users to determine impact on financial information or to determine if action should be taken to correct.

8. Prepares budget schedules and provides assistance with overall budget process as requested.

9. Prepares monthly and quarterly schedules and analysis for management.

10. Acts as key contact for areas requiring specialized knowledge of information and processes.

11. Tests system upgrades and enhancements related to job duties.

12. May lead and/or mentor other accounting personnel. Provide input on interviews, orientations, performance and counseling.

13. Performs other duties as assigned.
