Commercial Property Accountant

We're looking for a detail-oriented Commercial Property Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong experience in commercial property and commercial association accounting and can handle a portfolio of properties with precision and efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for the financial health of our properties and associations, all of which are owned by different entities. This requires managing multiple books and bank accounts, so we need someone with proven multi-book experience who can hit the ground running. We are looking for a professional who understands the unique aspects of commercial accounting, including base rent, operating expenses, and reconciliations.

What you'll do:

• Prepare and maintain financial statements, general ledgers, and supporting schedules for a portfolio of over 35 commercial properties and associations.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes for approximately 60 bank accounts.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and lease abstracts.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
• Calculate and eFile monthly management fees and sales tax.
• Assist with lease administration, including managing rent rolls and escalations.
• Collaborate with property managers to provide accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare annual 1099 Forms.

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of accounting experience in commercial property and commercial association accounting (no residential experience).
• Proven experience managing multiple books and bank accounts for separate entities.
• Proficiency with Yardi a plus
• A strong understanding of GAAP and property accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $70,000.00 - $85,000.00
