As a Mechanic, your duties will include:
- Cutting, assembling, fabricating, and testing gear reducers, motors, industrial and hydraulic hoses, components, and linear shafting.
- Working from predetermined production orders to select necessary components for assembly and completion of assigned jobs.
- Participating in operational excellence initiatives through continuous improvement projects, on-the-job training, schools, and online classes.
- Reviewing work orders, customer specifications, manufacturer catalogs, bills of materials, and instructions (written and/or verbal).
- Receiving and shipping parts and assemblies.
- Visually inspecting inventory to ensure proper functioning, identification, and adherence to customer specifications for reducers, shafting, and hoses.
- Assembling gearing, hoses, and shafting according to customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and proper receiving procedures.
- Keeping the work environment clean and organized.
- Driving standardization, reducing complexity, and ensuring customer expectations are met to minimize downtime.
- Performing regular preventive maintenance on shop equipment (e.g., oil changes, cleaning).
- Detecting and reporting faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to the Team Leader.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in power transmission and fluid power is a plus.
- Comfortable working with computers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
