As a Mechanic, your duties will include:
- Cutting, assembling, fabricating, and testing gear reducers, motors, industrial and hydraulic hoses, and components.
- Working from a predetermined production order to select and assemble necessary components.
- Participating in operational excellence initiatives through continuous improvement projects, on-the-job training, schools, and online classes.
Additional responsibilities:
- Review work orders, customer specifications, manufacturer catalogs, bill of materials, and instructions (written and/or verbal).
- Handling the receiving and shipping of parts and assemblies.
- Visually inspecting inventory to ensure proper functioning, identification, and adherence to customer specifications.
- Assembling gearing, hoses, and shafting to meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting and proper receiving procedures.
- Keeping a clean and safe working environment.
- Driving standardization, reducing complexity, meeting customer expectations, and minimizing downtime.
- Performing regular preventative maintenance on shop equipment (e.g., oil changes, cleaning).
- Detecting and reporting faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, and unusual conditions to the Team Leader.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in power transmission and fluid power is advantageous.
- Comfortable working with computers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Experience with SAP is preferred.
