The City of Raleigh is hiring an Economic Development Analyst that specializes in business & community engagement to help drive economic and social advancement. In this dynamic role, you'll connect with community groups, organizations, and business partners to promote growth opportunities and support our Business Engagement & Opportunities Program (BEOP). You'll lead outreach efforts, build strategic relationships, and help businesses-especially those new to working with the City-navigate and access contracting opportunities. About You: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Economic Development Analyst - Business & Community Engagement for the Business Engagement & Opportunities Program (BEOP) division under the Department of Economic and Social Advancement. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise in engaging the community and relationship building to lead initiatives in creating a prosperous business community through a wide variety of administrative and community outreach functions.

Within our Business Engagement and Opportunities Program (BEOP) Division, you'll play a key role in advocating, promoting, and designing expanding opportunities for small, growing, and historically underutilized businesses for economic prosperity in contracting processes within the City of Raleigh.

Work Hours: This position offers a hybrid/flexible schedule between Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, and is required to attend, lead, and/or support evening and weekend activities as needed.

leading and supporting business engagement initiatives .

Here's what you'll do :

Plans and executes outreach strategies to expand participation by under-resourced businesses in City of Raleigh contracting opportunities Builds and maintains relationships with organizations, coalitions, and partners whose members may benefit from BEOP programs and services

Typical Qualifications Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Business Administration, Urban Affairs or related field and 1 to 3 years' experience in finance, business, economics, grant management, supplier diversity programs, economic development programs, community engagement programs, or a related field

OR

Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted. Additional Information

Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Employees may occasionally use a vehicle.
