About this Job The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the Veterans' population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. Dietary Supervisor
to help manage our Dietary team-a proactive, hard-working team, working to ensure that our Veterans' daily nutritional needs are met. If you're a hardworking Food Service Supervisor who is ready to work with a great team and serve Veterans, this could be the opportunity for you!
Minimum Qualifications Three years of food service experience in a food service operation; OR
Three years of training in food technology, food service management, or in a food service-related curriculum in a trade school or technical institute; OR
Thirty-six semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, food service preparation, home economics, or hotel, food service, restaurant, or institutional management.

*Provides direct and indirect supervision, guidance, and assistance to subordinate Food Service Specialists. Reviews and evaluates the performance of subordinates, counsels employees, trains staff, and approves leave. Instructs subordinates in proper food preparation, serving, storage, and cleaning.
*Maintains accountability of foodstuffs, kitchen equipment, and supplies. Responsible for ensuring leftovers are utilized efficiently. *Responsible for the final food product and adherence to standards to include quality, sanitation, and safety. Ensures agency policy and procedures are followed. *Assist in food preparation when the shift is short. *Prepare diet cards for distribution. Make sure appropriate meals are being served according to the diet order. *Maintains records of meals served, leftovers, and meal ticket sales.
