All other applications will not be reviewed.Core Responsibilities: Processes parent, student, and third party refunds in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies (50%):Coordinates review process of applicable files with Student Accounting and staff from other departmentsReviews Student Accounting-related refund exceptions to ensure timely and compliant issuance of refundsExecutes system jobs that post refunds to student accounts in Banner ARProcesses credit card and deposit refunds in web payment system TouchNetPosts third party refundsCustomer Service (30%): Corresponds and interacts with students, parents, faculty, staff, and third parties in a professional and courteous mannerResponds to customer inquiries within 48 hoursNotifies students of missing or inactive addresses preventing the issuance of a refundCoordinates Title IV processes and compliance (15%): Monitors refund process to verify compliance with Title IV refund policiesCoordinates Title IV refund process for students with inactive addresses.Conducts regular "Notice of Right to Cancel Title IV Aid" communications with students and parentsOther duties, as assigned (5%): Serves as back-up to IT Analyst for AR production processesAssists Associate Director with special projectsOccasionally develop reports to address ad-hoc issues Qualifications Minimum Hiring Standards: Current VCU employeeExperience with Banner, specifically AR, Financial Aid, and StudentComprehensive knowledge of accounting/bookkeepingFamiliarity working in Windows environmentAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft ExcelGood customer service and communication skillsData entry skills and ability to work in a web application environmentAbility to work with minimal supervisionGood organizational skillsDemonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeExperience with reporting software (SAS, Cognos, Tableau, etc.)Other Position Details:Position is eligible for flexible work arrangements up to 80% remote work.Posting will close on September 14th at 7PM.FLSA University Employee Job FTE 100% Exemption Status Non-Exempt Restricted Position No E-Class UP - University Employee PT Job Category University Employee ORP Eligible No Salary Range up to $55,000 Compensation Type Salaried Target Hire Date 10/13/2025 Contact Information for Candidates Documents Needed to Apply
