Production Control Technician
Position Summary: The Production Control Technician processes accurate and timely refunds to students/parents in compliance with federal policies; coordinates credit card refunds in Banner AR and the web payment system; assists in resolving housing and admission deposit issues; corresponds with parents, students, and other departments in a professional manner; and coordinates Title IV processes and compliance. This is an internal posting, only available to current VCU employees. All other applications will not be reviewed. Core Responsibilities: Processes parent, student, and third party refunds in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies (50%): Coordinates review process of applicable files with Student Accounting and staff from other departments Reviews Student Accounting-related refund exceptions to ensure timely and compliant issuance of refunds Executes system jobs that post refunds to student accounts in Banner AR Processes credit card and deposit refunds in web payment system TouchNet Posts third party refunds Customer Service (30%): Corresponds and interacts with students, parents, faculty, staff, and third parties in a professional and courteous manner Responds to customer inquiries within 48 hours Notifies students of missing or inactive addresses preventing the issuance of a refund Coordinates Title IV processes and compliance (15%): Monitors refund process to verify compliance with Title IV refund policies Coordinates Title IV refund process for students with inactive addresses. Conducts regular "Notice of Right to Cancel Title IV Aid" communications with students and parents Other duties, as assigned (5%): Serves as back-up to IT Analyst for AR production processes Assists Associate Director with special projects Occasionally develop reports to address ad-hoc issues Each agency within the Commonwealth of Virginia is dedicated to recruiting, supporting, and maintaining a competent and diverse work force.
