WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Operate an EMS Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system to coordinate and monitor emergency and non-emergency medical transport.
Answer incoming calls, gather critical information from callers, and accurately enter details into the dispatch system.
Assign and communicate calls to field crews, ensuring efficient response times while considering unit availability, location, and priority.
Maintain constant situational awareness, tracking units and updating their status in real time.
Provide callers with appropriate pre-arrival instructions when necessary.
Transfer customers to the appropriate staff member when needed.
Communicate professionally with hospitals, nursing facilities, law enforcement, and other agencies to coordinate resources.
Document all call details, updates, and relevant notes clearly and accurately.
Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations and protect sensitive company and employee data.
Work closely with EMS crews to ensure the highest quality of service is delivered.
Assist in resolving scheduling or dispatching conflicts by offering alternative solutions when needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
High school diploma or GED required. Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize, and make quick decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of local geography, including highways, major streets, and landmarks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage. Previous dispatching or EMS experience preferred but not required-training will be provided. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in EMS, fire, or law enforcement dispatching is a plus. EMT certification preferred but not required. WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
