Equipment & Tool Designer (Asset Design)Company:The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring for an Associate or Mid-Level Equipment & Tool Designer to work at our North Charleston, SC location.Primary Responsibilities: Investigates, creates and reviews equipment and tooling concepts, designs and datasets, and organizes, manages and maintains drawings of record and applies configuration management tools. Participates in product design reviews and researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan and establish technical requirements for producibility. Develops statements of work with validated specifications, requirements, and functions and prepares design or fabrication off load packages. Develops, documents and maintains equipment and tooling inspection, maintenance and spares requirements and trains personnel as needed. Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions. Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems, and analyzing data to identify solutions. Conducts studies to determine current condition and make recommendation for disposition of the equipment and tooling. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): 3 or more years of experience with production systems in manufacturing or production capacityAbility to collaborate with both engineering and our stakeholders to understand their need and build trusted relationshipsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with data analysis in ExcelCATIA or equivalent solid modeling experienceExperience with programming, integrating or troubleshooting industrial controls from OEMs.Experience in Automation and roboticsProject management knowledge3+ years of relevant experience in Digital Transformation5+ years of experience in interacting with customers (both internal and external), at all levels, on a one-on-one basis and in group settingsExperience working within a fast-paced team environment which required strong communication skills to frequently interact with program leadership, internal and external customer representatives and development teamsUnderstanding of delivery methodologies with an emphasis on agileExperience with Model Based Engineering, Data Integration, Enterprise Standard Gated Practice understandingFamiliarity with RCCAs and the tools used to conduct them (5 Why, Fishbone, KNOT charts, etc)Hands-on experience with production equipment troubleshootingExperience in procuring and supporting automated industrial equipmentDrug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay Range Summary: At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
