click here . General Summary

The primary role is to assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and patient eye care, including conducting pre-testing or special testing, taking patient history, and guiding patients throughout the eye care and clinical experience. Essential Functions

Prepare patients before the examination by gathering information about their vision and medical history, explaining the exam process, and documenting all needed information in the patient’s record. Work effectively with technology and clinical instruments, taking measurements, and administering tests to assess visual capabilities in preparation for the examination. Perform contact lens insertion; educate and train patients on contact lens insertion and removal. Order contact lenses of various types and manage contact lens trials inventory. Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications. Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed. Prioritize patient care and flow while communicating effectively with doctors, staff, and patients. Assist in therapy exercises or procedures under the direction of the Optometrist. Support other office tasks such as answering phones, verifying insurance, checking in patients, scanning charts, maintaining a clean office, and managing patient check-in/out. Participate in special projects, cross-train in departments, and perform other duties as assigned. Job Specifications

Typically requires: One to two years of experience in a related field. Working knowledge of MS Office. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills. Ability to ask relevant questions to identify patient needs. Ability to multitask and interact with patients in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions
