About our unit
Gerber ICU is an eleven-bed unit, including two observation beds and nine inpatient beds. The unit is undergoing renovations with new paint, flooring, and artwork. It is a mixed unit with both Med/Surg and ICU patients. We offer telemedicine services in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, wound care, and VICU, with upcoming telemedical palliative care services. On-site services include MRI (6 days/week), CT, fluoroscopy, general and orthopedic surgery, care management, and medical social workers. Our goal is to maintain high-quality local care.
Position Overview
This RN Supervisor role offers growth opportunities, with a balanced mix of administrative and charge responsibilities. The schedule alternates weekly: one week from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and the next week with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., plus four flexible hours.
Scope of Work
The RN Supervisor manages, supervises, and coordinates the operational and financial aspects of the nursing unit, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery. The role may require on-call availability and filling in for the hospital supervisor as needed. Key responsibilities include clinical support, goal setting, program development, fiscal management, resource allocation, standards of care, policy interpretation, performance improvement, and staff coaching. Corewell Health Nurse Supervisors must obtain their Nursing Administration or Professional/Specialty Certification within 12 months of starting or becoming eligible.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required
Master's degree in nursing (MSN) preferred
At least 1 year of clinical experience in ICU or Critical Care required
MI Registered Nurse (RN) license required
AHA or ARC BLS certification required
AHA ACLS certification required
NIHSS Stroke Certification required
