TCRWP is creating a new team focused on improving outcomes by using measurement and learning analytics. We intend to develop systems to measure and optimize the efficacy of our curriculum and our professional development, and to do so by measuring student performance, doing this at scale in ways that support thousands of schools worldwide. We will deliver through the full data product life cycle including analyzing, developing, testing, revising, measuring and then continuing to iterate. As a Lead Data Scientist for the TCRWP, the emphasis on your work will be on Decision Science, exploring complex questions related to student learning and user engagement. You will be comfortable and excited to work closely with teacher educators, curriculum authors, principals, superintendents, and other data analysts to tackle complex business problems that can be solved using data science. You will develop models from unique and diverse data sources to provide strong insights and maximize the impact of the intended outcomes of TCRWPs efforts. You thrive in a collaborative, creative environment that moves fast, and you set in place workflows, structures, and processes to help the Team scale.

As an integral member of the Data team at TCRWP you will help foster a deeper collaboration and build new relationships across our products and our professional development partnerships to build trustworthiness in your models that support decision-making and produce customer insights. This role will require you to partner with others to develop strategic insights to drive learning goals.

Responsibilities: Lead and own data science projects from conception to delivery Research and develop statistical or machine learning models that extract timely insights from massive teaching and learning datasets Work with stakeholders to translate business problems into tractable questions and formal hypotheses that can be modeled using data science techniques Develop reproducible data science tools and processes Understand the K-8 teaching and learning domain and know how to model it Communicate concisely with leaders Help identify ways to improve data quality and deliver value Additional jobs assignments & projects as needed Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of professional industry experience in Data Science or Learning Analytics Experience delivering impactful data science projects from start to finish Experience and working knowledge of educational research, elementary education preferred Expert coding ability in SQL and either Python or R A strong understanding of statistics Experience working with Big Data using cloud tools Experience with source control tools such as Git The ability to work independently or as a part of a large, cross-functional team. Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to explain concepts, write and present results to both technical and non-technical audiences Experience with multi-level models, graph models or recommendation systems Production experience with machine learning and other advanced statistical methods Experience driving statistical or ML solutions for product development teams Salary Range: 150,000 - 165,000 Competitive Compensation and Benefits The salary range reflects the Colleges good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting.
