Senior Fund Accountant Job at Alliance Resource Group in Santa Monica

Overview

Alliance Resource Group has partnered with a boutique investment firm that is seeking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to their team. This opening is due to continued growth, and the firm offers strong long-term career development. The position reports directly to the Head of Accounting & Finance, a supportive leader known for mentorship and maintaining a team with very low turnover.

What makes this role unique is the combination of responsibilities: while core fund accounting and financial reporting are central, the Senior Fund Accountant will also gain exposure to investment decision-making—participating in discussions around whether to pursue certain investments and how capital is best deployed.

Compensation

Base pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for investment funds in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain general ledgers, journal entries, and supporting workpapers.
• Ensure accuracy of capital calls, distributions, allocations, and carried interest calculations.
• Monitor management fees, performance fees, and expense allocations.
• Assist in preparing investor reporting packages, capital account statements, and ad hoc analyses.
• Support responses to investor inquiries regarding fund performance, allocations, and statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 public accounting and fund accounting (private equity, hedge fund, real estate, or asset management).
