About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Real Assets Accounting with a focus on financial reporting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and accurately reporting financial data, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting, valuation, and financial reporting. This role requires a strategic accounting professional with a strong background in real estate investment structures, mortgage documents, development agreements, and partnership agreements. The Vice President will also be the subject matter expert for financial reporting, demonstrating a strong understanding of technical GAAP, historical cost, and fair value reporting accounting treatment. Additionally, the role involves determining the financial statement impacts of significant transactions, overseeing third parties, and coordinating with the CFO and CAO.
Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' of real estate accounting experience, with a preference for those with exposure to real estate private equity, non-traded REITs, or public REITs. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Big 4 auditor or relevant industry experience, and possess strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on historical cost and fair value basis of accounting for real estate. SEC reporting experience, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, is essential. The role requires a deadline-focused, organized individual with excellent problem-solving skills, capable of handling multiple deadlines and efficiently utilizing Excel and accounting software. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and a CPA is preferred. The candidate should also demonstrate a management style that is leading by example, with a strong sense of business acumen, vision, and purpose, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
