Kitchen Tune-Up is a home remodeling company that is family owned and local to the Grand Rapids, Lansing and Traverse City area. Here at Kitchen Tune-Up (KTU), we focus on home renovations and customer service. We are a one stop shop in assisting customers with their kitchen or bath projects, making it easy and fun. KTU is looking for a professional and motivated salesperson to do in-home estimates on kitchen and bathroom projects. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and it is exciting to take the journey with the customer to help renovate their space so they can create many new memories. The KTU salesperson will need to have excellent communication skills, superb customer service, be able to follow a process and be detail oriented. A strong salesperson who is not afraid to ask for the close and help solve problems creating a “dream space” for the client. This position is based in Grand Rapids, MI. There are additional sales opportunities if the candidate is willing to travel to multiple locations. The Sales rep is required to bring in 20% of their own leads. This position is 100% commission. Strong candidates have an opportunity to make $100K or more. Knowledge in the home remodeling industry is an advantage but not required. The job is remote mostly with some days needed in showroom.

Reporting Relationship

The salesperson reports to the manager.

Duties and Relationships

  1. Assembles quotes for customer for kitchen and bath projects with the goal of creating a sale using KTU internal system.
  2. Gathers information on all job-related products in order to provide a presentation to the customer.
  3. Has innovative and creative solutions to sell kitchen and bath based on customer needs.
  4. Close sales
  5. Continues customer communication and contact during the job to monitor all related activities for documentation and to communicate to operations and sales.
  6. Works cross-functionally with team members to communicate customer project details or changes.
  7. Creates outside leads and sells other than those generated by the Idea Center and Design Studio’s advertising.
  8. Join network groups, conduct meetings with realtors and drive communication on KTU services to local businesses that are a fit.
  9. Track, follow up and input data into KTU internal sales tracker.
  10. Works annual shows and at the showroom to qualify prospects wants and needs into a sales plan.
  11. Performs job site visits and gathers the information necessary to create a cabinet layout for new and existing projects.
  12. Photographs the remodeling jobs that are being measured to provide “before” photographs for the showroom album.
  13. Weekly sales meetings with Sales Manager.
  14. Revises quotes or drawings as customers’ wants and needs are assessed.
  15. Collects payments from customers per KTU billing cycle.
  16. Communicates necessary information to KTU Design Services/Operations to enable them to complete a cabinet order.
  17. Completes the purchase order requisition to enable the Administrative Assistant to type the purchase necessary material needed for supplies.
  18. Initiates any job change orders.
  19. Meets the Project Manager at the job prior to installation to inspect and cover all necessary details.
  20. Continues customer contact during the job and monitor all related activities.
  21. Provides and manages small gifts to the clients during the project.
  22. Completes final job site visit or communication with customer.
